Sup bros, Right so i haven't made my terrarium yet or started incubating, but i rekon my situation will be: standard sized jars, fruiting in a terrarium approx 3 x 2 ft. This is a question to the experienced masters, reflecting on their past best yields and worstcould they give me some rough estimates to expect.
And also can someone inform me about "flushes", from what i gather each flush is the fruiting of new bodies after a harvest upon a cake? And how many flushes to expect? Is it about 3? All advice appreciated, cheers. Yeah you got the 'flushing' thing right. Yeah Trout is basically right, cakes are unpredictable though. I have had cakes flush as many as 5 times and some flushes have been over 40G's wet.
Then I have had some cakes that have flushed only 10G's wet. After you get the cake thing down, try crumbling and casing. The Complete Monotub Tek Cultivation Walk-through - The Easiest Way to Grow Mushrooms Indoors!

I am currently in my 3rd experiment in which everything bad except contamination happened to me. At first everything went well. Mycelium growth was steady till the day and then it stopped.
Informing myself on forums I realized I did a mistake: after inoculating the glass I closed the 4 holes completely and so closed the gas exchange.
On the 20day yesterday I reopened them the 4 holes not the glasses and covered each glass in staniol paper the silver one for storing food etc for additional protection. Later yesterday I also realized that my temp regulator went wild and stayed ON for at least 4 hours when I found it making the temp in my chamber as high as 40 deg.
I corrected this immediately and am now hoping that everything didn't die during the 'hot time' While waiting for the next disaster to happen I am preparing the next experiment as you can see I don't give up so, hmm, easily. I will buy 5 best strains and by best I mean strains that: 1 are not too hard for a beginner to grow they must work with the Cake method 2 are the strongest available while agreeing with point 1 In this and also the rest of my explanation I would welcome your comments.

All the strains will require the same conditions, one isn't easier to grow than another. I would say in terms of "strenght" you are fooling yourself; the amount of mushrooms, no matter what variety that you can grow in a single grow is more than enough to send you into space and back.
This is not cannabis. The easiest things to grow are cubes and they handle pretty much the same no matter what variety you choose, the important thing is how you grow them. Good growing conditions will yield more and better flushes, poor growing conditions will yield less etc. Substrate, temperature and light are all factors that also affect the fruiting process. Growing mushrooms requires that you follow the process from day 1.
Substrate is in my number one category of things that can go wrong. To wet, to dry, etc. My best tip would be to start in your kitchen, start working a lot with your substrate. Look into coffee and gypsum etc extra additives. I know many people here do consider potency to be an issue; I dont.

The jars colonized almost twice as fast and much better then with the BRF. I got my Rye jars to fully colonize in under 14 days, the brown rice flour was almost 25 days. Same temp same incubator.
I will let you all know how the harvesting goes with the Rye, if you care. Damion said:.I live alone sung hoon episode eng sub
Would you recomend rye flour for a noob and his first grow?? Also can u get it at a regular grocery store??
Sweet thx for the advice what about Foil lids you think they are safe enough cause I was gona use 8 oz drinking glasses. Oh ya, but make sure your glasses are larger at the top then they are at the bottom. If not your never going to get the cakes out. Do two layers of foil. Or use the Heavy duty aluminum. Don't go cheap with it. ARe you pressure cooking or using a big pot and steaming the jars? And If you are going to use a regular pot, be carefull not to break your glasses in it.
I have broken alot. Place it in the bottom of the pot and place your cups on it this will act as a barrier for the heat, so it won't break the plate Now put in enough water to cover the plate and about 1.Growing psilocybin mushrooms has been getting popular in recent years. More and more studies are being conducted regarding the therapeutic value of psilocybin and its effectiveness in treating depression or other psychological disorders.
Some states such as California or Colorado had initiatives that aimed to legalize psilocybin mushrooms and, while the mushrooms are illegal, the spores or grow kits needed to grow magic mushrooms are legal in most parts of the world.Mpc touch
People who want to know how to grow magic mushrooms for research purposes, of course might find the task daunting. If you want to do it yourself with your own psilocybin spores, you can also grow mushrooms with the PF Tek method.
This guide will show you how to grow magic mushrooms through both methods. Many people all over the world choose to grow magic mushrooms using preprepared grow kits from reliable psychedelic mushroom providers. You should see results within a week and your magic mushrooms will be ready in around two to three weeks, depending on the species. The PF Tek method is fairly easy.
Growing Psilocybin Mushrooms
You have to prepare the substrate where the mycelium will develop and the jars. The colonization phase follows when you insert the spores and let the mycelium develop for four to five weeks. You then transfer the colonized mix into fruiting chambers and wait for the magic to happen! Drain the water using a sanitized strainer and then add the rice flour until there are two centimeters left. Close the jar tightly and cover with tinfoil. Pour tap water until it reaches the middle of the jar and let it boil slowly for around an hour and a half.
Sanitize the syringe by heating the needle with a lighter until it glows red. Drill holes that are 2 inches apart from each other on every side of the storage container: the base, sides and lid. Place the container in such a way as to let air flow from underneath. You could use different objects to balance it. Soak perlite in the sink using a strainer.
Fill the storage container with a 4-inch deep layer of soaked perlite.Golang nuklear
Empty the contents of the jar on a sterilized surface. Rinse the cakes with cold tap water above a sink to get rid of any dry vermiculite. Be careful not to damage the cakes. Place cakes in a bowl or a container full of tepid water for 24 hours so that they can rehydrate. Place another heavy object to make sure cakes are submerged in water.
Fill a bowl with dry vermiculite and roll your cakes like you would roll chicken through flour. The cakes will keep their moisture better this way. Place tinfoil below each cake. Make sure the chamber is properly hydrated and aired throughout the fruiting period. Keep on misting and fanning at least four times a day for optimal growth conditions. Be careful not to let water touch the cakes. The PF-Tek was developed and first made public in by www.
This tek made the cultivation of mushrooms at home feasible for complete beginners utilizing commonly available materials. The growing method I describe here is based on the PF-tek but includes a few modifications that are time tested, and are in my opinion superior to the original PF-tek. I strongly recommend you to read the original PF-Tekif you haven't done so already, to see a different approach to some steps.
The PF-Tek for Simple Minds is as simple and as foolproof as it gets, but is not completely foolproof of course. Following it will give you good chances of succeeding and a good idea on the general process and time line and prepare you for higher yielding teks, like using whole grains and dung. The substrate is mixed, filled in jars, sterilized and inoculated with mushroom spores. After the substrate is fully colonized the substrate cakes fruit in a humid container.
By growing mushrooms indoors on a nutritious substrate you create conditions than not only favor the growth of the mushrooms, but also the growth of a large number of other organisms molds, bacteriamany of them potentially hazardous to the health.
To ensure that only the desired mushroom is grown, it is very important to assure cleanliness in all of the cultivation related procedures. Before you work, wash your hands with antibacterial soap and warm water.
Afterwards, wipe them dry and rub with Lysol or isopropyl alcohol iso-propanol. Keep the place where you do the inoculation and fruiting dust free and clean and don't bring in dirty clothing or shoes. Personal hygiene is equally important.

Dirty hands and even dirty hair are a hotbed for all kinds of unwanted microorganisms which can destroy your cultivation project. Vermiculite is made from a naturally occurring mineral - mica. Crushed mica containing water is heated and expands to a volume several times greater than that of the untreated mica. Vermiculite is able to hold several times its own weight in water and it gives the substrate an airy structure.Download muzo ft chef mp3
Vermiculite is available in several grades, the middle and the middle-fine grade are most suitable for cultivation purposes. Canada www. United Kingdom www. Australia users. Generally you can get vermiculite in garden and hydroponic stores, in some regions also in pet shops. BRF is available in health food shops either already ground, sometimes though there is only whole brown rice available.Spore syringe.

A spore syringe will contain the mushroom spores needed to inoculate the substrate and begin growing. Vermiculite is a porous, inert substance that we will use to maintain moisture content inside the cases and provide space for the mycelium to grow.
The fine ground vermiculite is preferable, but course vermiculite will also work. Brown rice flour. Commonly referred to as by its acronym, BRF, brown rice flour is a hyper-nutritious substrate that will provide nutrients to our mushroom.
Mason jars. We will use the a flame to sterilize the spore syringe 's needle between the inoculations of each jars. A butane lights, gas stove or alcohol lamps will all work just fine. The substrate is made of vermiculite, brown rice flourand purified water. You'll want to mix the vermiculite and water first. Make sure that the vermiculite has soaked up all of the water it can before adding the brown rice.
Then add the brown rice flour to the hydrated vermiculite. The flour should stick to the outside surface of the vermiculite. There should be no water in the bottom of your mixing bowl after thoroughly stirring. Fill the jars up to mm about half-inch below the rim. Do not compress the mixture into the jars. We want there to be air spaces through which the mushroom mycelium will be able to grow. Wipe the top of the jars clean inside and out with a clean paper towel in order to ensure there is no substrate sticking on the edges.
We want nothing nutritious to be left behind. Fill the remaining space inside the jar with dry vermiculite. This will serve as a contamination barrier. C lose with the lids. The lids should have 4 holes near the edges and cover the holes with masking-tape or micropore tape. The holes will be used to inoculate the jars with spore siringe. Cover the jars with aluminium foil so that condensation in the pressure cooker won't drip on the lids and through the holes.
That might cause too much water to enter the jars. With brown rice flour as our substrate, we have two options for sterilization, a pressure cooker or steaming. This will avoid direct contact of the glass jars with the bottom of the cooking pot, which might otherwise cause the jars to crack.
This method works with brown rice flour because it sterilizes more easily at lower temperatures than other spawn substrates. Boil ml half-pint to a pint jars for minutes.
Shorter times might work with smaller jars. Keep the water simmering. When you are done sterilizing let your jars cool in the cooking pot as it will protect them from contaminants. Some growers recommend to wrap the pot in a cloth soaked in sterilizing alcohol to filter the ambient air that enters the pot as it cools down, but others find this step unnecessary. Pressure cookers working at a lower pressure will reach lower temperatures. User longer times for bigger jars.
Once the pressure cooker has reached the maximum pressure keep the lowest flame possible to keep it at regime.Did you use this instructable in your classroom? Add a Teacher Note to share how you incorporated it into your lesson. To begin growing your own mushrooms you will need the following for the PF tek: - Pressure cooker Check thrift stores such as savers and goodwill, also browse your local craigslist. Be sure to use wide mouthed tapered jars! Spore syringes are the easiest way to get started growing mushrooms with this technique.
They can be ordered online from a variety of sources. To prepare your jars, you will need a hammer and nail. Remove the jar lid and lay the flat lid rubber side up on a table. Take a nail and make 2 - 4 holes evenly spaced around the edge. The sharp edge around the hole can tear the foil in the next few steps. The substrate is what the fungus will feed off of. It will consist of brown rice flour, vermiculite and water.
Cake Sterilization methods..
First, take the dry ingredients and mix them in a bowl. After they are well mixed add the water. I have heard of adding 'worm castings' earthworm poop to substrate to give better flushes of mushrooms. Once your substrate is well mixed and moist, begin filling your prepared jars with the substrate. Don't pack the mixture down, just loosely fill the jar.
I just filled my jars up to the threading for the lid. Fill the rest of the jar with dry vermiculite. This is to make a barrier between the substrate and contaminants in the air. Now close up all your jars, with the rubberside facing upwards upside down from how they were designed Place a square of foil over the lid covering the holes and sealing the jar from contaminants in the air.
