Listed below in alphabetical order are the major suppliers, past and present, of HV relays. If you know of other companies you feel should be added, or if you are a manufacturer and would like to be considered for listing, please send your information to us at info hvrelays.
Cynergy3 previously Crydom specializes in a variety of semiconductor, liquid level and high voltage vacuum reed relays rated up to 15 kV. Reed relays generally do not switch above watts and are not as rugged as ceramic types, but they are superior for long life, fast operate time and the lowest cost. The Cynergy3 brand was created after the Crydom-branded solid state relay line was sold to Schneider Electric in They also act as a manufacture of HV reed relays for some of the other high voltage relay manufacturers listed below.
They were founded in by the management team that built Kilovac before the Kilovac brand was sold to TE Connectivity. Their Chief Scientist, now deceased, was the VP of Engineering for Jennings Technology and held most of the patents for the relays used in the industry today. They have real people answer the phone unless they are closed and encourage users to draw on their wealth of application knowledge free of charge.
GIGAVAC acts as its own distributor and says they have over finished part numbers in stock and ship most orders the same day the order is received. Jennings Technology high voltage relays have been around since and was once considered the industry leader. They pioneered many of the high voltage vacuum relay designs used in the industry today.
Other than possibly ITT, each sale is said to have caused Jennings to loose market share. Jennings technology has vacuum with some gas filled high voltage relays.
TE Connectivity supplies sealed reed, vacuum and gas filled high voltage relays but do not say they offer fully compliant RoHS relays. They sell their high voltage relays through the TE Connectivity sales and distribution network.

Vacuum and Gas-Filled Relays
Jennings products offer the benefit of more than 70 years of expertise in state-of-the-art vacuum technology, producing non-thermionic vacuum for high voltage and high frequency applications. This combined with service, quality and reliability is why you'll find Jennings components in applications globally. Vacuum capacitors High voltage and current rating, wide tuning range, low losses, self-healing, and high altitude operation. Vacuum and gas-filled relays Widely used in airborne, mobile and marine communications equipment.Testout network pro activation code
These relays are noted for fast operating speeds and the ability to withstand high voltages and carry heavy currents, while maintaining low and stable contact resistance.
Vacuum interrupters and contactors Jennings interrupter designs handle a wide range of voltage and current interrupt levels. High quality and high reliability interrupters that are available for utility and industrial markets.
DC contactors Jennings research has once again enhanced the DC contactor by enabling new green technology to aid in lowering the world's carbon footprint.

The reliability of Jennings vacuum relays is second to none; many of these relays have guaranteed life ratings set in the multi-million cycle range. The relays' reliability coupled with their small size and high power handling characteristics make the use of Jennings relays in any mission critical application an obvious choice.
Many of Jennings relays are fully Mil-Spec rated. Vacuum is the ideal dielectric for high voltage relay switching. It has extremely high voltage breakdown characteristics, a fast recovery rate up to 10 kV per millisecond and it provides an absolutely inert and non-reactive environment for switching contacts. If a load is switched, an arc will form. This arc will have a very low voltage of 18 to 23 V and be quite stable in comparison to an arc in air, which is another advantage of vacuum.

Manufacturer Series. Top seller.Unfortunately these excellent relays are only spec'd to 32 MHz A call to the tech folks at Jennings yielded some useful information as to the voltage and current specifications higher in frequency.Hogwarts mystery side quests not showing up
In passing the tech mentioned that they had used the relays in a project at 75 MHz. The tech's best guess was that the 16 and 32 MHz specifications could be 'more or less' linearly extrapolated higher in frequency. Ratings at 64 MHz would therefore be approximately 1. This still left open the question of isolation and return loss for which there doesn't appear to be any data This prompted me to generate my own data and it is presented here as others may find it useful.
In most applications, connection to the relays are via copper strap or coaxial cable pigtails. While these methods are fine inside an rf amplifier compartment, a better interface to the test equipment is required if one wants to accurately characterize relay performance.
In order to adequately test the relay a fixture was machined from a copper pipe cap. SMA connectors were used for the connections with lead lengths kept as short as possible. Pictures below show the fixture details. The first measurement was for relay isolation - from the common connection to the normally open connection with the relay de-energized.
A second test from common to the normally closed connection with the relay energized produced results that were indistiguishable from the first test. An HPE spectrum analyzer and tracking generator were used for the measurement.
All ports were terminated in 50 ohms. The wideband spectrum display can be seen below. Readings were taken at several amateur bands of interest and are presented in the table below. Note that the curve is smooth and 'well behaved' indicating no frequency dependant 'anomolies'. The display shows the frequency range from 1 MHz to MHz. Note that the curves are smooth and 'well behaved' indicating, again, no frequency dependant 'anomolies'.
Based on the info from Jennings and the measurements presented here, performance appears to be adequate for operation at 50 MHz.
A writeup on the SB modifications for 6 meter operation including the use of the RJ1A relays will be forthcoming
